SO Fourteen welcomes local firms to new coworking space

A new coworking space in Southampton welcomed several of the region’s influencers last night (28th February) as it opened its doors to the local community.

SO Fourteen provides flexible and affordable city-centre workspace for local start-ups, small businesses, freelancers and remote workers. With space for 44 members and four monthly membership options available, it enables members to hire deskspace, gain access to private meeting rooms and build a community by working alongside other ambitious and likeminded individuals.

Around 50 guests, including businesses, accountants, estate agents and press from Southampton and across Hampshire, were treated to a tour of the 3,500 square foot office and shown photos of the refurbishment, which was completed by Guildford-based TDA Interiors at the end of 2018.

Founder and Managing Director of SO Fourteen, Alex Hilton-Baird, described to the guests the thinking behind the eco-friendly and vibrant design, which features plenty of natural wood, greenery and soft colours. He also explained the reasons why coworking is becoming an increasingly attractive proposition for small businesses and their staff.

Alex Hilton-Baird said:

“With the huge range of pressures facing businesses at the moment, it’s important they are able to access flexible office space that doesn’t tie them in for long periods and allows them to scale up or down as and when they need to. With employee wellbeing also a hot topic currently, employers need the comfort that their staff are motivated and able to work in an inspiring and professional environment.

“Last night was a great opportunity to welcome so many people into SO Fourteen and show them that companies like ours are listening to these challenges and coming up with fantastic solutions.

“We’re incredibly proud of what we have created here in the heart of Southampton, and look forward to helping local businesses and professionals to overcome these challenges and grow their network in the months and years ahead.”
