House Rules

House Rules

We want you and all our Members to have a productive, enjoyable and most of all safe experience at SO Fourteen. Common sense and courtesy go a long way to achieving this. But in the interests of everyone, we have adopted these House Rules which all Members must comply with.

We regularly review and update our House Rules. They are available on our website and copies can be provided on request, but it is your duty to ensure you are aware of them.

No smoking or vaping

Smoking is not permitted anywhere within Woollen Hall or SO Fourteen, or within 100 metres of any street entrance or within 50 metres of any external wall. This applies equally to vaping. Tobacco products, matches, etc. are not to be placed on desks / rolled in the office.

No drugs

We operate a zero tolerance approach to the use of illegal drugs.

No alcohol unless approved by our Community Manager

Alcohol is not permitted within SO Fourteen unless approved in advance by our Community Manager or when served by us. When alcohol is permitted, it may only be consumed within the communal Members area and during the agreed times.

All Members and their guests are expected to drink responsibility. We have a zero tolerance approach to drunkenness and may refuse to serve any person, or request any person to cease drinking alcohol, at our absolute discretion.

No pets (other than assistance dogs)

Pets are not permitted within Woollen Hall or SO Fourteen. We do, of course, welcome assistance dogs and our Community Manager will be happy to assist in ensuring they are comfortable whilst at SO Fourteen.

CCTV

In the interests of safety and security, we may monitor certain areas of Woollen Hall and SO Fourteen with CCTV, although we are not obliged to do so. Where we deploy CCTV, details will be set out in our Privacy Policy.

Members must not move, deliberately block or in any way interfere with any CCTV installations.

Food and drink

We don’t mind if you bring in hot drinks from your favourite coffee shop or sandwiches etc., but please do not bring hot food into SO Fourteen.

You are free to help yourself to breakfast and other items when served by us but please take a fair share so that all Members can do likewise.

Clean desks

All Members must comply with our clean desk policy and clear all their items at the end of each day. Fixed Desk Members have access to lockers included in their membership where they can store items. All other Members can use lockers as a chargeable extra, or must take all their belongings and documents home with them each day.

Meeting rooms & phone booths

Meeting rooms and phone booths are booked on a first come first served basis via our online portal.

Please do not pop into a meeting room or phone booth to use it, even on a quick basis, without having booked and always vacate a meeting room or phone booth once your booked time has expired.

Please ensure you leave meeting rooms and phone booths in a clean and tidy state, removing any cups, glasses, paperwork etc.

Communal spaces

Communal spaces are available for everyone to use, whether working away from their desk, taking a break from their work or for quick chats when there’s no need to book a meeting room. Please be mindful of other Members using these areas.

Telecoms systems

The shared broadband connection and telecoms are used by all Members and are not provided on a dedicated basis to any particular Member. As explained in the Services Description, all telecommunications, voice services and associated phone equipment are provided directly to Members by our exclusive telecommunications partner, Vostron, who have purchased these services, and you should refer to their terms of service for any relevant query.

Please be mindful of other Members when downloading or uploading large files, or when needing to use other facilities such as the photocopier.

Our Community Manager will be happy to discuss with you how to best manage any one-off heavy usage you may need to make.

We’re sure you are already familiar with the kind of restrictions set out in our IT Use Policy, but please read it carefully and speak to our Community Manager if you have any questions or concerns.

Cycle racks

Cycle racks are located in the car park. They are included in the Fixed Desk membership and available on a hire basis to all other Members.

General conduct

It goes without saying but please do not:

  • be disruptive, abusive or dangerous to anyone else
  • conduct or pursue any illegal or immoral activity or conduct any activity that we regard (in our sole discretion) as offensive
  • market or try to sell your own or anyone else’s services to other Members or their guests in a persistent or aggressive manner

You must not attach anything to the walls or make any other alterations to your work area or anywhere else in SO Fourteen, or install any equipment or cables or bring in any furniture without permission from our Community Manager.

Please respect the privacy of other Members, including their right to keep their own business confidential and to work on developing their own intellectual property, and do not pry into other Members’ businesses. If you have any concerns about another Member, please always speak with our Community Manager.

External guests

Please advise us via our online portal in advance if you are planning to host external guests for a meeting. They will need to be signed in and out. We request that you meet them in the reception and escort them throughout their stay.

Support

SO Fourteen has a full time Community Manager to ensure everything is running as it should be. If you are unable to locate the Community Manager, please call 023 8112 5014 if assistance is required.
